The Ski Museum is nominated for the National Museum of the Year award 2011
The Ski Museum in Holmenkollen, together with Glomdalsmuseet, Lofotr Viking Museum and Norsk Teknisk Museum are nominated for the National Museum of the Year award 2011. The winner will be announced on the evening of 25 August.
New Festival in Holmenkollen this summer
The new festival "Kollen" will be arranged for the first time this summer the last weekend in June. The festival will last for two days and Rihanna is opening the show on Friday 29th of June.

What we can offer
In addition to a great view over Oslo from the top of the Jump Tower, we can offer two souvenir shops, a café and the Ski Simulator. Free parking and toilets.

It is The Association for Promotion of Skiing (Skiforeningen ) that runs Holmenkollen, and the Ski Museum which is located right next to the jump tower.
The Association for Promotion of Skiing is one of Norway's largest and oldest leisure organizations, with 60.000 members. From the foundation in 1883, their main intention has been to work for "distribution of ski sport and other outdoor activities, and to arrange the Holmenkollen ski festival". One of the largest jobs is to mark and prepare over 2000 km of slopes.
The Association of Promotion of Skiing arranges the Holmenkollen ski festival, in addition to running and developing Holmenkollen. The arrangement of the World Championship in 2011 is a cooperation between the Association for the Promotion of Skiing, Oslo Municipality and Norway Ski Federation (Norges Skiforbund
).
