" Is it possible?!"

In September 2011 Holmenkollen Skimuseum opened a new exhibition called "Is it possible?!". It`s about physically disabled on snow and skis.

Not all Norwegians are born with skis on their feet. Some have never skied because of a congential or acquired disorder. However, there are many individuals who overcome their difficulties and make the impossible possible.

Everything is possible

Under the opening of the exhibition Cato Zahl Pedersen, who is a pioneer of sport for people with disabilities, said that " Arms and legs are overrated. With todays technology everything is possible". This exhibition permits us to expand the general perception of skiing and winter sport. The exhibition is all about possibilities. The resources of every individual are made visible through sport and athletics. This exhibition want`s to challenge people`s preconceptions.

The exhibition

Visitors can, among other things, test how it is to stand at the shooting range and shoot when you are blind, feel the balance required to maneuver a Sitski, or learn the deaf character related to snow and ski.

Welcome to an important part of our skiing history.
